Techie's phone-o-rama: Past,present,future

Ah phones, one of our greatest
achievements yet, allowing us to comminacate with people over 10'000 miles away, and now, play angry birds, and do many other things that you would have needed a computer, game station or other paraphernalia to use. All fitting in the palm of our pocket.
Our focus today, will be on three phones today, Techie's past, present and future phones.

Right now This techie is stuck on contract with tmobile, what that means for me is, no new phones for 1 1/2 years, while on contract though, I still have the use of my old nokia 1100, and my lg optimus t. Speaking of my nokia 1100 it is a great segway into our first discussion:

My past phone: The nokia 1100

The Nokia 1100 was, for as long as I can remember my phone, and may I say a very good phone at that. Making calls perfectly and staying uncharged for days after days, but it was basic, too basic, as the tide of technology kept on turning, I realized, slowly but surely, My phone had become obsolote. It was a hard decision, considering I had a perfectly Phone-ish phone, but the thought of a cheap android update enticed me, so I rushed to my nearest tmobile store and bought the lg optimus t unlocked for around 200 dollars. Not opting out for a samsung galaxy or htc phone, instead humbly choosing the lg optimus t.

My present phone: The lg optimus t

I probably would have chosen the optimus t, even if I would have had the option to get a galxy s, simply because with super powered phones there isn't anything you can do to them to make them run faster, while with slower phones you have the fun of making them run faster, actually finding ways to improve your phone. This may not be for everyone, but that's the way I like it.

My future Phone:

Even though making your phone run faster is fun, I suppose that at some point I will get tired of it, and hopefully when I do, the 1 1/2 years of my contract I have left will have passed, and I can upgrade to the monster that is the galaxy s 2. Which is probably tmobile's best android powered smartphone out there as of now. Of course the reason I chose a samsung phone is that it will allow me to mess around with their touchwiz user interface and put all kinds of custom android roms on it, not tweaking for perfomance anymore, but just tweaking for fun.

Technology: our addiction

Technology. You can't avoid it, your life is already centered on it. Anything you use now-a-days is technology, your car, your phone, your fridge, your ipod, even your stapler is technology, and my prediction, is that in the future our lives will be even more centered on it. I mean, that just in this century we have created computers, mastered cars, created airplanes, created the very internet you are reading this on, pretty big achievements, but now you can probably manage all that from the palm of your hand with your Phone because of celular data, two more new technologies, and now, you can even get an mp3 clock that plays music. Your grandparents might ask you if all this is necessary, 2,000 miles away, and all of us when asked will probably say yes, it is necessary.

We have become dependent on technology, the good news is that IT ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE!, What I mean is, for the durations of our lifes, technology will keep evolving, and might even improve our life spans one day, so we don't need to worry about our dependence on technology, at least in my opinion, but we should tone down our usage, not posting those satus updates every five minutes, not always having our nose stuck in those angry bird's buisness, and that way we will all be happy.

*Special post* New years resolutions.

It's that time of the year again, actually its the beggining of another year. 2012, And I don't see any signs of the apocalipse, but what I do see is people saying: "My new years resolution is......" almost everyone except for Chuck Norris has a new years resolution, actually he is some people's resolution. But I know I'm no 'Norris, so I know that I need to set some regular and achievable goals such as:

 1. Blog more
OK. I admit it, I haven't really been active on this blog as much as I should, but starting now, you can expect at least one post a week from this here techie, with all the new gadgets of 2012, here's will be your best place for news on the web, sorry I went into advertising mode, moving on. I might implement a massive graphics change, so check back on this blog to see the new interface, as well as some awesome new posts, including my upcoming, first part of: the complete guide to android, sorry, it happened again commercial mode.

 2. Walk my dog more often.
I have a wheaten terrier, his name is terry and even though he is mine, and I love him, I find a different family member walking him, not me, so that when he comes home from his walk, he looks at me like: "Oh man, you missed a great walk, I almost caught that dang squirrel again, this time for real" Well I'm exaggerating, but those of you with dogs now what I mean

3. Be more Organized.
I realy ned to become more organized in general, I am always missing asignments, and misplacing things, So I am realy going to become more organized this year. With all my schedules and work.

A sad but true story: My ipod

Well, I find myself almost sobbing uncontrollably as I sit in my chair and look at this, my latest feat.
I have long been battling with my ipod, to keep it alive, as it started crashing randomly one day, long ago.
Never would I have known, that it would reach this point: My ipod is fine on the outside, only a few scratches on the back, and never have I dropped it, Always charged it and now it will not even go into DFU mode, at all, much less start up, so I am stuck with my slow Optimus T for mobile entertainment, as I cannot stand the idea of lugging around an ipad 1 with me everywhere I go. If you are laughing while reading this post, I don't blame you at all the forums I have searched, I have found no one that has bricked their ipod as badly as mine, and if they have, it was fixable, after messing with it Sunday after Sunday after Sunday, I think I am ready, to put it in its semifinal resting place, my electronics drawer, where it shall lay, dead next to my old camera,mp3 player, and some other odd gadgets. Maybe one day it will come back to life, but until then it shall lay there peacefully. *sob* *sob*
