A romp across the interwebs part 1

The internet is a key part to most of our lives. Sometimes it even is our life. In this short series of posts I will discuss a variety of topics, including memes, various websites, google plus, and much much more.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PART 1 GOOGLE
Remember the days when google was just a search engine? Yeah, me neither. Google has grown to be one of the world's biggest companies, and with its development of android os, it has practically taken over huge amounts of the mobile market. My favorite aspects of google are, however
1. Android Os, Best.Mobile.Os.Ever. I have my life on my phone, and android keeps it together.
2. Google plus, which is the best social network in the world, better than facebook and twitter by far.
3.Google apps, the greatest collection of online productivity apps ever. Did I mention it's free?

By saying these things I know I sound like some paid google advertiser but i'm not. These facts are true, and google is not perfect. It's just very very very close to being perfect. Google plus is going to be this article's main focus. Google Plus is google's attempt at the social networking world, and it's starting to gain some steam. Google plus has a great interface and a great amount of features, but since it's still just starting to gain steam it is missing some of the competition's features.

Windows 8 cp review

Well, I just had to do something to my old asus eee pc, so I decided to install windows 8. What surprises me is that it runs apps from older windows editions well enough, and also it is pretty fast on an old pc with 2 gb of ram. it is currently only available on x86 architecture, so no support for my tablets, but still, its very good for free. I still worry about installing on my new pc as there are some noticable bugs. It is obviously made for slate pc's but the desktop interface, with some mild tweaking resembles windows 7.
It has few apps tailor made for it, but like I mentioned earlier apps for older distros work well enough on it. If microsoft makes more apps for it, I will honestly install it on every computer in my house, even the ones that dont support windows 8, it will give me an excuse to break out my hacking skills. I will keep you guys up to date with windows 8 news. Until next time, Techie's Out!

Techie's got a new computer

Hello world,  It's been a while since my last post, but let me tell you, I've got a story that will make laugh out loud. So this weekend I finally decided that my old asus eee pc had become to old, and that I needed a new computer. I walked into costco and ran straight into the tech section, ignoring the tantalizing tablets, and the majestic computer accessories and looked at the computer models on sale. I had already had a bad experience the day before with trying to buy a Toshiba laptop that was missing 7 keys, a definite no-no.  I looked at the Hp's and immediately settled on the amazing Hp D4, a notebook pc. Quick spec time
i5 processor
8 gb of ddr3 ram
750 hard drive
Cd and dvd drive with bluery
wifi and bluetooth connectivity

This comes after days of searching for the perfect computer, and years of using a cruddy pc, the speed blows me away, and webpages load in a matter of seconds, it is good for music production, as well as graphics production and the beats audio make a huge difference. Its good for games and social activities as well, and the webcam I think is 3 mp with flash. it comes with windows 7 home premium and it comes with a load of hp bloatware, but it is still managable, until next time, Good Bye!

Smartbook talk

Hello and welcome to this weeks post. Today I will be covering a very useful topic, putting another os on a smartbook, or virtually any other device using the wm8505 processor, for those of you who are *Lucky* enough to own a smartbook using the wm8505 processsor you probably recieved it running windows c.e. 6, which you then probably tried to scrounge up apps for , but eventually gave up. Well dust off your netbooks because with just a 2gb sd card and the links I provide, you can go straight from windows c.ee 6 to android or vice versa. More after the Break:

In this folder, you will find the two Operating systems I have previously mentioned, Don't worry they are safe to download and they both have been tested to work on a sylvania smartbook using the wm8505 processor. Here are the steps to put a new operating system on your netbook. (Note: I will update the folder with new O.S. es as I find them.

1.Unzip the Operating system zip files until you find a Script folder.
2. Plug in your 2gb Sd card and format it to fat 32
3. Copy the script file to the root of your Sd card.
4.Turn on your smartbook and back up all your files to a U.S.B. Disk or other removable media
5. turn it off and insert the Sd card. turn it back on after waiting 30 seconds. The Uboot bootloader installed on your smartbook will WIPE your storage and install your new operating system.
6.Turn on smartbook and plug out sd card.
7. You now have a new O.S. on your smartbook, Enjoy!

I will be happy to help with any issues that might occur.
