When you move, you remember the house you lived in before with fond memories, but usually agree, (If the move was not forced on you.) that the house/appartment/misc. you moved to is better. Well that's exactly how I feel after moving from windows to Ubuntu 11.04, officialy.
Now, this may look like mac, but it's Ubuntu. Heavily modified, but Ubuntu nonetheless. I decided to move because for some while I had been running Ubuntu using Wubi, which I had installed in windows Xp (For more info see my first post.) So far, its been wonderful, but not without its turbulence, For one thing, the look is completely different than windows xp on unity, and still different on Ubuntu classic.
But this hasn't bothered me as much as the lack of cd or dvd software compatible with Ubuntu. This isn't as bad as you may think because the amount of software and other things the community has contributed to Ubuntu is amazing, I don't even think of using microsoft word anymore, because there are literally hundreds of replacements. Now I can't really say that Ubuntu is neglected because it is one of the most popular linux flavor out there, but I can say this: Ubuntu is a great platform that needs more big companies to back it up.
Anyway, back to the subject of moving, if you are having problems with your mac or windows computer, or just want to move to linux, try booting that linux off of a U.S.B or In a virtual machine
Because for a day to day use of word editting, listening to audio or browsing the internet, mac and windows are great too!
